So last time I posted a journal, it was all about how I was going to be sticking around.  Twenty-three months later, here I am again.  This time I will make no grand pronouncements, only say that I am hopeful I'll have a few things now and then to share. The camera and I are finally beginning to grow on one another.  It helps that the computer is cooperating.  It's also good that I finally got to commune with nature recently... brief, but well-loved it was.

I've been gone awhile due to a bazillion different factors.  Going back to work knocked me off my feet for a couple of weeks.  So life was pretty much a series of sleeping and sleepwalking until I got back in the groove.  Another thing is that my camera wasn't working (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't and there's really no reason for either that I can tell), so the last couple of trips I took didn't result in anything worth posting. Last week my in-laws came down and stayed with us.  We had a lovely time picking apples out at Oak Glen and just spending time with them out in the yard.  After they left, we had a day to ourselves, and th

Well, here it is.  In less than an hour I have to return to work.  Summer shouldn't be over yet, but my schools are starting up next week and I've got to get everything set up and ready for them.  I kicked off summer with a phenomenal camping trip in San Diego with my pal Jill, so how did I end it?  Helping Corey with schoolwork and trying to take a nap.  But one of the people who will be giving work to my students called my cell phone and interrupted my nap... and for what?  To tell me that he won't be ready for a couple of months.  Thanks Dude!  Next time call my office. Yep, cranky and tired and going to face the world without coffee, ha!
